Action Thriller
Story
The story begins with Eve as a young girl being raised by an abusive and extremist father and a submissive and calculating mother. They are part of a trailer community that travels the back roads of Arizona with a cult like council controlling the families. Eve’s mother sees no way out of her relationship and decides to close the chapter herself by committing a murder suicide and leaving Eve to be raised by the community. Eve is so desensitized by trauma that she no longer registers its existence. She has become numb to her feelings. We jump forward many years to find Eve has escaped the community to the downtown of a large city. She uses her experience with manipulation to recruit her own cult. She has several young men convinced that they are angels and she is the savior returned to earth. They are abandoned youth that are drawn to the attention she gives them. She tells them they are angels from heaven who were granted life on earth to experience its beauty and hardship before it is destroyed in the apocalypse. She tells them they must be numb to human suffering and they must prove their strength by torturing girls that she chooses for them. This is a form of retribution for her mothers violent act in her childhood.
Eve and her followers leave the city to go on a camping trip to bring another ‘angel’ into the fold. On this trip the recruit will have to carry out Eve's instruction to kill to prove he is worthy of returning to heaven as an angel. This is when Eve and her cult come across another group of local campers in a state park and Eve determines which girl in the other group will be the sacrifice. As the two groups camp together they decide to go further into the forest to another paradise like campground described by Eve. As they travel deeper into the national park the other local group starts to suspect foul play when one of their female friends goes missing. All hell breaks loose as Eve and her angels try to put an end to the dissention. All along another camper has been trying to find the innocent local camping group and re-unite with his ex girlfriend among them. He is our hope as the campers get further and further from civilization.
This film will keep you on the edge of your seat as you are moved into the ever-increasing suspenseful interactions of the characters. As we are drawn into their stories we are drawn further and further from the structure and security of society. In this natural paradise the characters fight to salvage their existence from the chaos of misguided youth. This is a story about the ability to manipulate religion for immoral ends. We are forced to watch as the circle of madness perpetuates itself and spins out of control. We are left praying for it to stop and the characters to be saved.
Style
This film will have elements of ‘Interview with a Vampire’, ‘Red Dawn’, and ‘Deliverance’. It will explore the themes of innocence corrupted and the quest for morality in the fight for survival.
Suggested Cast
This film will be an excellent calling card for many of the young actors involved. The roles will be challenging with complex content. Some actors to consider would be Katie Holmes, Orlando Bloom, Clare Danes, Tara Spencer-Nairn, Liane Balaban, Jenifer Holmes, Quddus Phillipe, Lindy Booth, Natasha Carew, Topher Grace etc.
